This book traces the chequered history of the branch line between Cannes and Grasse, neglected for several decades, which has now become an essential component of the rail network on the Côte d’Azur in the south of France.
It was the struggle of user associations and visionary elected officials that made this revival possible after decades of use only by freight services and occasional special trains.
The book contains a good selection of photographs, postcards and timetable extracts through the ages, covering the period from opening through to closure to passengers, the freight-only era, reopening as far as Ranguin in 1978 and on to Grasse in 2005.
Contains 117 colour and 226 black & white illustrations. French text. Large format hardback. 160 pages.
