Following on from his previous book on the Chester and Holyhead Railway, Philip Lloyd has put together this history of the branch lines off the North Wales Coast route.

The book looks at the background to the construction of each branch and describes their operation during the London & North Western Railway era including their role in the communities served and major incidents on the railway where applicable.

Starting in north-east Wales and finishing on the Isle of Anglesey, routes covered include the branches to Corwen, Blaenau Ffestiniog, Bethseda, Amlwch and Afonwen, all of which have long since closed to passengers with the exception of the Conwy Valley Line to Blaenau Ffestiniog.

There is a good selection of black & white photos dating from between the early 1900s and the present day, and towards the back there is a colour section featuring scenes from the 1960s onwards including several modern day shots. Hardback. 232 pages.
